Meeting with Dainius Baltrušaitis
On February 11th Dainius Baltrušaitis, a professional certified coach from SMART had a discussion with LCC students about coaching.
Students had many questions about his career and tools for self-coaching. More »
Dainius provided very vivid examples of what coaching is and what it is not and could provide many examples from his own extensive experience.
He described coaching as "transportation business" when you take individuals from point A to point B by doing nothing but asking questions. The right kind of questions, of course. Coaching is about trust and change in behavior and attitudes.
Although related to Psychology and psychotherapy, Coaching a very different technique and the main difference is the focus. For psychologists, the focus is on the past and for coaching only the future matters. When asked about potential career in this field, Dainius said: "if you are happy to always be in the backstage, then go for it"

A 60 min. adventure was hosted by Human resource manager Renata Matilionienė. She once again reminded how important it is to be the first in the market and how to adapt fast. It's no longer the Big That Eat the Small...It's the Fast That Eat the Slow. Being flexible is crucial in today's economic situation.
The company produces all types of calendars, books, posters, flyers, pamphlets, photo-albums, business cards, office forms, envelopes, invitations, postcards, advertising leaflets, brochures, catalogues, non-periodicals, labels, documents on carbon paper and etc. Students had a chance to observe the complete cycle of printing operations, from publishing processes and preparation of layouts to finished goods.
Students got information about the trends in a printing/publishing industry and what skills are required from potential candidates. Jokužys is one the few companies that are able put your ideas on paper. They are especially good at making all sorts of calendars. Students were also were able to understand seasonality of this business. With most of the orders happening before Christmas when calendars for a new year are given as Christmas gifts and are used for marketing purposes as well. The purpose of field trips is observation for education. It provides students with experiences outside their everyday activities encouraging them to think ahead and apply theoretical knowledge in practice as well as to reflect critically on their experience.
