LCC Visited by Future Partners from China
10 June 2010
LCC International University was paid a visit by two high officials from Hebei Vocational School of Foreign Languages in China earlier this week. The President of the college Mr. Ding Guosheng and the Chair of the Western Languages Department Mr. Meng Senling not only toured LCC's campus and the city of Klaipėda, talked to LCC's President Dr. Kyle B. Usrey and President's Cabinet members, but also signed the agreement to start partnership with LCC. Both guests described their visit as 'fruitful' and left Lithuania with hope to host LCC's representatives' visit in China in the near future.
Mr. Ding and Mr. Meng who visited several cities in Russia before coming to Lithuania discussed partnership possibilities with LCC. They claimed Hebei Vocational School of Foreign Languages would be interested in sending its students to Klaipėda to continue their studies at LCC. Also, the college could provide LCC with an instructor of Chinese language, so that LCC's students would have an opportunity to learn this language.
Guests toured LCC's campus, visited several classes, talked to students and professors. Mr. Ding and Mr. Meng were especially interested in student life conditions, academic procedures and quality of education. They also had an extensive tour of the city, which they described to be very safe, calm and nice. Guests from China did not have any other official meetings in Klaipėda - their only aim in Lithuania was to visit LCC, whose President Dr. Usrey used to work with Mr. Ding while living in China.
Hebei Vocational School of Foreign Languages changed its status in 2002. That year it leapt from being just a teaching school to a college offering multiple study programs like hotel management and tourism, mass media, international trade, nursing, e-commerce, logistics, airline crew, business English and some other with education being a major emphasis. The college has about 7,000 students at the moment, and its buildings cover 180,000 square meters. It is situated in Beidaihe that is known as China's summer capital.
