Program

LCC International University is an international learning community, with students representing over 20 different countries, including Albania, Belarus, Canada, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Nigeria, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, the United States and others.

The purpose of the Intercultural Programs is to provide intercultural education within an international community and to aid international students in their transition from country of origin to Lithuania, and to LCC community.

The program contributes to students' education by fostering international community, and providing intercultural education. Through intercultural events, students come together and discuss diversity, culture, history, and build community. It is our belief that these interactions strengthen the bonds of diversity that exist at LCC.

Office of Intercultural Programs hopes that International students at LCC will:

  • Develop healthy cultural pride
  • Become community educators
  • Practice cultural and racial sensitivity
  • Develop intercultural communication skills
  • Practice conflict transformation
  • Receive resources for integrations into a new culture

Intercultural Events

Intercultural events serve to build community and to educate LCC about your culture and others. You will not want to miss out on these events!

Independence Day celebrations

We celebrate Independence days of each country that LCC students come from. Celebrations consist of a flag raising ceremony and of singing country's national anthem at noon hour. It is followed by an evening celebration in Neumann Hall lobby with learning more about the country, about its traditional dances, games.

International Olympics

Let the best team wins! That is a motto for the International Olympics at LCC. Olympics usually happen in the beginning of the Fall semester. LCC students form teams according to their country of origin, and participate in events like pillow fights, Frisbee bowling and other.

Intercultural Trip

LCC international students have an opportunity to explore the country of Lithuania, get to know its geography and culture through visiting different cities and towns.

Intercultural Week

It is an educational week celebrating diversity, inviting students to discuss intercultural issues in the world and at LCC.

Parade of Stars

It is an evening of cultural celebrations. Each country showcases their culture through art, poetry, history.

KVN

It is a great humor show based of an old Russian TV Show called KVN (English translation of the acronym is Club of Happy and Creative people). Students from teams and compete in making the audience laugh. KVN is a serious competition between funny and creative students, and audience loves it.
