“It is you and not just your achievements that matter,” the commencement speaker Eglė Zalatoriūtė told the class of 2018 in her address. She emphasized the need for constant growth and pursuit of virtues such as empathy, kindness and faithfulness – all of which make individuals valuable as personalities and not merely tools that bring profit to their employer.
Graduates of the Class of 2018 represented 11 countries. In the graduate address, Standford Phiri, on behalf of his fellow graduates, thanked staff and faculty for their determination to cultivate young people’s minds and teach them how to think with awareness of self and others.
Commencement was a significant day of celebration not only for graduates, but for the parents, families, and friends who have encouraged, supported, and believed in the graduating students. We wish all the very best to this year’s graduates as they set out on the next stage of their careers!
