Last week LCC International University hosted guests from our partner university in Indonesia, Pelita Harapan University. Sheryl Taylor and Joy Lee visited LCC as part of the Erasmus+ training program. During their visit they shared their expertise with LCC staff and faculty. Sheryl Taylor, a Library Coordinator, learned about our library and the Klaipeda City libraries’ processes. Joy Lee, a Lecturer in Business Management, engaged with students during several class lectures. LCC faculty member Roman Hromyk commented on Lee’s lecture, stating that: “Mrs. Joy Lee lived and worked in places ranging from Mongolia and Albania to Korea, Switzerland, Indonesia and the US. Such a profile gives Mrs. Lee an outstanding view on topics of management, faith and business, interfaith dialogue and global civil society. We had fruitful and engaging discussions with Mrs. Lee in each of the two classes that she visited.“ Current LCC student Solomiya was an exchange student in Pelita Harapan University (UPH). She explains that Mrs. Lee’s lectures provide compelling insights about the relationship between Korean and American perspectives: “Yesterday Mrs. Lee gave a couple of lectures dedicated to topics of Leadership and Management. As a Korean-American she drew comparisons between American and Asian perspectives.” Jolanta Kaun, the LCC Library Director library, also spoke positively about this visit: “We are excited to have Mrs. Sheryl Taylor as a guest at the LCC Library! She is an expert, with rich work experience in academic libraries of at both US and Indonesian universities. We spent hours talking about library procedures and trends in the field. We also visited the public library in Klaipeda. And, we will travel to the Vilnius Book Fair for a day to experience the biggest publishing-related event in Lithuania.” We are very thankful for such great guests!
