Initiative for Dialogue and Conflict Transformation (IDCT) is an initiative of the Center for Faith and Human Flourishing. The IDCT is the work of a team of LCC students in International Relations and Development, supervised by LCC faculty. We aspire to advance the mission of the CFHF through work in partnership with the community of LCC as well as representatives of civil society on the national level.
The initiative was founded in Fall 2018 with an ambition to foster empathy and reconciliation in the light of unrest and conflict. We work toward our goals by creating platforms for dialogue, providing information, advocacy and a place for discussion for both national and global level audience. This work is aimed at creating a better informed public that is culturally sensitive and motivated to seek peaceful solutions to political and social challenges.
We believe that a combination of knowledge and practice is crucial to foster reconciliation and dialogue. To promote the ideas of peaceful dialogue and conflict transformation we organize conferences, round-tables and panel discussions, debates, conduct advocacy campaigns and research activities, in which we aim to create a hospitable environment to listen, share and learn.
