The list of institutions that we partner with has increased significantly since we hosted our first Study Abroad group in 1994. We are grateful for our current partnerships with so many excellent institutions and we recognize that there are more and more institutions that are looking for unique educational experiences for their students. This page is designed to provide information about the programs offered by Study Abroad Lithuania:
Study Abroad students participating in the semester program are fully immersed in Eastern European cultures as they study in an international community and live in the port city of Klaipėda. Students are housed in one of our residence halls with 3 international roommates. Taking a wide variety of courses with their Eastern European peers exposes the Study Abroad students to a variety of different cultures and enables them to learn the subject material while at the same time challenging their worldview through classroom diversity and intercultural engagement. In addition to academic learning, students are enabled and encouraged to immerse themselves in the community through volunteer and service oriented opportunities as well as academic internships / practicums.
About one month before the semester begins, LCC sends participation invoices to each school. For information regarding semester fees contact email@example.com.
Summer Study Abroad students usually come with a professor from their home institution for either three or six week summer sessions. The topics are faculty driven and range from history to photography to social work. Students experience a condensed version of our semester program by traveling to different parts of Lithuania, studying and living with their peers from Lithuania and other Eastern European countries. Some Study Abroad students choose to enroll in summer sessions offered by LCC faculty members. Volunteer opportunities are also available for students who would like to experience life outside the classroom. Our Recruiters travel to partner and potential partner campuses at least twice per year. Campus visits allow us to meet with school associates as well as potential Study Abroad students and better inform them of the program and opportunities provided through Study Abroad Lithuania. Recruiters visit with Study Abroad associates to discuss the potential of a partnership, or if a partnership is agreed on prior to the visit the recruiters work with appropriate staff and faculty on campus to arrange a visit that may include setting up a display table on campus, making short classroom presentations, chapel announcements, and/or arranging other info sessions or events on campus. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a campus visit.
