On Thursday, October 12, LCC students from Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan visited the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They met with L. Linkevicius, the minister of Foreign Affairs, and shared their experiences of leaving their conflict-affected countries and pursuing their new life here in Lithuania.
The visit was organized to mark the opening of the photo exhibition dedicated to the life of Yazidis in the Khanke Camp, Kurdistan, Iraq. The author of the exhibition, Zina Salim Hassan, currently studies at LCC International University. Before she arrived in Klaipeda, Zina lived in the Khanke camp for two years, where, together with other Yazidis, she was avoiding persecution by ISIS insurgents. The exhibition will be displayed in Vilnius, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, until October 27.
