Opening Convocation 2018

2018-09-03

September 3 marked the beginning of a new academic year at LCC International University. This year LCC community welcomed 629 students from 43 different countries. During the Convocation ceremony, LCC President Marlene Wall awarded 4 distinguished freshmen with full scholarships for their entire academic journey at LCC. Other scholarships and awards were granted to outstanding incoming students as well.

This year, we are happy to have our very first student from New Zealand – Emma McDonalds, who is excited to be a part of the LCC community: “I didn’t want to be stuck in New Zealand for University. Europe was where I wanted to be but I was scared of being at a university that operates in other language while I speak only English myself. LCC offered the perfect balance of English language and a completely different culture. I hope LCC to be my home away from home, pushing me to be better and supporting me. I look forward to the challenge of International Relations.”

Danielė Tumosaitė, whose sister currently also studies and works at LCC, is looking forward to this new year: “As President Marlene Wall said, LCC is a big family. I can already feel that it’s not just words. I feel like I’m at home here.”

We are very happy to see new and returning students, and very ready to kick-off the new academic year!
