
13th Public Speaking Competition at LCC: A Ticket to London Goes to...
LCC International University, in keeping with tradition, hosted the 13th National Public Speaking Competition that once again gathered high school pupils and their teachers from all over Lithuania in Klaipėda. 28 competitors fought for the main prize - a ticket to London, where the final round of the competition takes place every year under the guidance of ESU - the English-speaking Union.

Student Art Exhibition "Life Outside": The Epicenter of Artistic Talents
"Life outside" is an Art Exhibition organized by Student Times in order to show that LCC International University Students are not only Business, Psychology, Theology and English majors, but also creative and talented people. The opening of the event was held in Neufeld lobby, and visitors were invited to take a look at art works created by the LCC students, an intriguing reinterpretation of street arts as well as more traditional forms of artistic expression.

Conference at LCC: Church Leaders at a Round Table
On February 26-27th church leaders and pastors from around Lithuania gathered at LCC International University for the first Congregational Development Conference that was dedicated to the recreation of the person in Post-Soviet context. The theme of the event - "Re-creation of the Person in Post-Soviet Context" - brought together representatives of different Christian denominations to a round table to discuss the topic together.

E.Zalatoriūtė Receives the Award for Spreading the Philosophy of Volunteerism
On February 16th, the date Lithuania gained its independence 92 years ago, Klaipėda Mayor Rimantas Taraškevičius honored those who helped to organize two major events of 2009 that made the city known all around Europe - the folklore festival "Europiade" and the yacht tournament "Tall Ship Races".

Higher Education Fair in Vilnius Saw The Largest LCC Presence So Far
LCC International University was represented by its largest display ever at this year's higher education fair "Self-education, Studies and Career 2010" ("Mokymasis studijos karjera 2010") held February 4-6 in Vilnius. This fact was not the only one that made the university's appearance special, because LCC was also represented by the biggest team ever, consisting of 12 staff, faculty and student representatives.

LCC Haiti Initiative: Inside a Beautiful Yet Unfortunate State
Hundreds of thousands are dead, a million are left homeless, towns are ruined, and a nation is in despair. This is what news channels inform the rest of the world about the disastrous earthquake in Haiti and its outcomes. The world is not observing Haiti's tragedy passively - tons of humanitarian aid are being shipped to the island, and money is being donated to charities around the globe that support the rescue of Haitian people and the reconstruction of devastated towns.

Digital Textbooks at LCC: Bringing Studying to a New Level
LCC International University has become the first university in Lithuania to use digital textbooks. Last fall a group of students had a chance to experience what learning with an electronic textbook is all about and they were not disappointed. In the future, the university will offer more courses that will use digital resources, because the tendency is clear - electronic books are winning the hearts of millions of learners and readers around the globe.

Saltshaker Conference: Know It, Live It, Share It!
At a new time of the year, December 30-January 1, this year's Saltshaker youth conference was the highlight of winter holidays for about 200 young people from across Lithuania. In addition to inspiring and challenging speakers and group worship sessions led by local singers and Latvian band "Man-Hu", participants celebrated the beginning of the year 2010 together.
