New Academic Year Officially Started: Vivat Academia!

"Vivat academia!" or "long live our academy," sang students, faculty and staff during the opening convocation at LCC International University that took place on September 1st. Fifth Anniversary: Erasmus Students From All Across Europe Are Back To LCC

LCC International University became a first Lithuanian home to a group of international Erasmus students for the fifth year in a row. 21 students from Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Hungary and Austria spent three weeks in August at LCC learning the basics of conversational Lithuanian language and exploring Lithuania's culture and history as well as sharing their own nations' culture and even cuisine traditions.

LCC Chosen to Host the Willow Creek International Leadership Summit in Lithuania

LCC International University and City Church of Klaipeda in association with The Willow Creek Association will host the first annual Willow Creek International Leadership Summit on October 15-16, 2010 at LCC in Klaipėda. The entire event will be provided in Lithuanian, allowing the country to offer this top quality leadership conference to a wider audience of leaders in Lithuania.

Time to Celebrate: Summer Language Institute Turns 20!

5000 students from all over the world, 500 instructors from North America, Western Europe and Lithuania, two decades of experience - this is the official statistics for LCC International University's Summer Language Institute (SLI) that turned 20 in July. It is a special date for LCC, because its entire history started with this project back in 1991 in Panevėžys and later grew into a modern international university LCC is today.

A Leap Forward for LCC: First Master's Program Launched

LCC International University reached a new stage in its development - on June 21st a long-expected Master's program became a reality. 11 students from Lithuania, Latvia and the United States - mainly English language teachers - had their first set of classes. Two years from this day, after completion of this unique program of study, they will be holding a diploma for and MA degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

LCC Visited by Future Partners from China

LCC International University was paid a visit by two high officials from Hebei Vocational School of Foreign Languages in China earlier this week. The President of the college Mr. Ding Guosheng and the Chair of the Western Languages Department Mr. Meng Senling not only toured LCC's campus and the city of Klaipėda, talked to LCC's President Dr. Kyle B. Usrey and President's Cabinet members, but also signed the agreement to start partnership with LCC.

This year's graduation at LCC International University was an even more special event - hundreds of guests gathered in Michealsen centras not only to congratulate the graduates, but also to hear an outstanding speech given by a distinguished speaker Valdas Adamkus, Former President of Republic of Lithuania.

Coming Soon on YouTube: "Mama Mia" video featuring LCC women

Last fall when a student Hanna Pukhtseyeva saw the YouTube video of Hesston College: "Dancing Queen", featuring her Bible instructor Michele Hershberger, she knew that LCC International University needed to do something similar. She asked Hershberger about it, who was also interested in creating a women's video at LCC, but the reality of grading, assignments, meetings and classes pushed their dream away.

Career and Business Fair at LCC: New Name, New Partners, New Concept

This year's career fair organized once again at LCC International University changed significantly - now it has a different name, different partners and quite a different concept. Organized in Michealsen centras on April 15th, the fair was advertised under the new name of Career and Business Fair due to the fact that from now on it will not only be the place to find useful information about job opportunities, but also the fair offers consultation for the start of a private business or maintaining an existing one.

Third Academic Conference: Responses to Cultural Homogeny Discussed

"Responses to Cultural Homogeny: Engagement, Resistance or Passivity" was the topic of the 3rd annual academic conference on interdisciplinary research held April 9-10 at LCC International University. Previous conferences were "Culture and Dialogue" in 2008 and "Crisis as a Catalyst for Creativity and Innovation" in 2009.
