TOEFL

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a test designed to measure the English-language skills of people who speak English as a foreign language and plan to study at colleges and universities in North America either as graduate students or undergraduates. TOEFL is one of the tests that are accepted for admission to LCC International University.

At LCC we offer you possibilities to prepare for the TOEFL test and take the institutional TOEFL test for admission to LCC International University. LCC also acts as a regional testing center, where you can take the Internet based TOEFL test (iBT TOEFL) for admission to any other university.

Institutional TOEFL at LCC

If you are preparing to apply to LCC International University, you are encouraged to take the exam with us. It will cost you less, and you'll get a chance to experience LCC international university for yourself. If you live far from LCC, we'll even arrange on campus accommodation for you.

Next institutional TOEFL test - February 20 @ 11:00 a.m. (Registration: 9:30-10:30).
The cost of the institutional TOEFL test at LCC is 180 LTL.
Please note that this institutional TOEFL is only valid for entering LCC and will not be accepted by other universities. We can thus offer it at a special rate.

iBT TOEFL

LCC International University is an official testing site for the Internet Based TOEFL (iBT). The iBT TOEFL is accepted around the world as a test of a students' ability to succeed in a university where the language of instruction is English. The test includes reading, listening, speaking and writing.

Register with Educational Testing Service (ETS) at www.ets.org.
The cost of the iBT TOEFL is 180 USD.
All payments and registration need to be made on line with ETS.

Preparing for TOEFL

You can prepare for the test in a number of ways. Here are a few:

TOEFL Preparation Course - January 25 - February 6

The purpose for this two-week TOEFL preparation course is to assist students by familiarizing them with the test. Class time is spent on practice exercises in three sections: Listening, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension. The courses take place on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday from 17:00 to 18:30.

By taking this course the students will:

  • Become familiar with the format and directions of the test.
  • Learn to recognize the various kinds of questions that are frequently asked
  • Practice items from each section of the test
  • Understand test taking strategies (time management, filling in the answer sheet)
  • Review individual questions
  • Take a full-length practice test

The cost of this two-week preparation course is 180 LTL.

TOEFL Practice Test - December 4

On Friday evening at 4 p.m. all students take a practice TOEFL test and find out what their TOEFL score is.

The TOEFL seminar and practice test costs 30 LTL.

Other ways to help you prepare:

  1. Buy or borrow TOEFL books and audio materials. If you live in the region, you are welcome to use LCC library and use the resources available there.
  2. Practice the TOEFL with preparation materials at the LCC library.
